Visit to Cyprus
Following our contacts and POPA’s cooperation with the Hellenic Red Cross, interested coaches can attend its first aid training programmes at a preferential rate.
Given the large number of coaches—8,500—who need training by the end of 2022, we recommend the “Basic Life Support” programme offered through the Hellenic Red Cross online training platform.
This flexible distance-learning programme has been specifically designed to cover Basic Life Support comprehensively. Its main aim, like all Hellenic Red Cross training programmes, is to prepare participants to respond to everyday medical emergencies by providing the necessary first aid.
The syllabus is fully aligned with the latest European Resuscitation Council (ERC) guidelines and covers:
- Basic Life Support for adults
- Basic Life Support for paediatric patients
- Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Management of choking
In addition to the core learning material, the programme includes a glossary of key terms, frequently asked questions, short comprehension tests and a final assessment.
The participation fee for the Basic Life Support programme is €20 per person. On successful completion of the programme and its final assessment, the Hellenic Red Cross issues and sends a certificate of attendance valid for five years.
